There’s a number of wineries in the area that are family-friendly and great for picnics! Some of our favorites are Biddle Ranch, Edna Valley Vineyard and Talley Vineyards.
Pismo Beach
There are many beaches in the area as well as the most popular one, Pismo Beach! There’s shopping, food and something for the whole family! Other beaches to check out are Avila Beach, Shell Beach and if you travel north, Morro Bay Beach.

Book an hour (or two!) at one of these amazing mineral springs deep in the Avila Valley!
Downtown San Luis Obispo
Downtown SLO is one of our favorite spots to shop, eat and drink! Some of our favorite places are Blast 825 Taproom, the Cider Bar and McConnell’s Ice Cream shop! There is also one of the 21 missions in California located in the heart of downtown.
Morro Bay
Travel north for about 40 minutes and you’ll run into “the rock” of Morro Bay! Here you can rent kayaks, go on a bay boat tour, shop or just enjoy a day on the beach!
Cayucos
Just past Morro Bay, you’ll see the cute, quaint towns of Cayucos and Cambria! Here you can find moonstone beach and the original Doghouse Grill called Main Street Grill. Also, don’t forget to check out the Brown Butter Cookie company in Cayucos!
