Our story began on July 7, 2022, when we both happened to be going to a concert at SPAC with the same group of friends. Little did we know that night would be the beginning of our forever. We spent the entire concert talking and dancing together. When the night ended, we made our way back to our friend's car, only to realize none of us were in any condition to drive home. Luckily, I had family at the concert, so I reached out to my Zizi to see if I could catch a ride home with them. Once I knew I had a ride, I said my goodbyes to the group, including Kris, and started walking back toward the concert venue. With a little encouragement from his friends, Kris decided to follow me. Now, this is where our versions of the story differ. As Kris was walking toward me, I remember telling him to turn around and head back to our friends because I was leaving. Kris, however, interpreted this as me telling him to stay right there and wait because I would be coming back. So, being the gentleman he is, he found a tree, sat down, and waited for me. And waited. And waited. Meanwhile, I was happily on my car ride home, completely unaware that Kris was still sitting under that tree waiting for me to return. After receiving a few concerned looks and even being asked by strangers if he was okay, he finally took it as his sign to head back to his friends. That night, I went to bed happy and completely oblivious, while Kris went to bed a little less happy, convinced I had left him waiting under a tree. To this day, we still disagree about whether I told him to stay or go, and I have a feeling we always will. But four years later, that same tree became an even bigger part of our story. Kris brought me back to the exact spot where he once waited for me and got down on one knee to ask me to spend forever with him. Four years ago, he sat under that tree waiting for me to come back. This time, I came back, and we left together, ready to begin our forever.
