Who knew a 40 min bus ride every day could lead to a love story. Marissa and Michael met on the bus freshman year of high school. They were drawn to each other early on and had their very first date to see Hunger Games at the movies. Fast forward to fall of their junior year, they decided to go on their second date to see, none other than, Hunger Games 2. Their second date led to a third, and a fourth... Michael asked Marissa to be his girlfriend on December 30th, 2013 and they have been inseparable ever since.

Marissa and Michael had been together for almost 8 years when Michael decided to ask Marissa's parents for their daughter's hand in marriage. In the fall of 2021, Michael purchased the ring Marissa always dreamed of. October 23rd, 2021 was the big day! The couple and their families planned a beautiful day out east at Kontokosta Winery. It was there that Michael got down on one knee overlooking the bluff and asked Marissa to be his forever. The two were so blessed to celebrate with their immediate families in Greenport. In Michael's words, "what a beautiful day".
