How we met

July 8, 2013

Marisol's version: I reported to the first day of a new job, I was one of four new employees (Walter being one of the others). After orientation was complete, Walter and I were the only two left in the room. To avoid the dreaded awkward silence, I started making conversation and asking questions about his life (in no way was I interested in this guy). Once HR came to take us to our perspective departments, I found out he was to be my supervisor. After a couple of months of Walter asking me out, I said yes and here we are today. Walter's version: I'll like to begin by saying that the above version is highly inaccurate. Now, I must admit, that on the first day on the job I noticed a girl with killer legs. And it was during the lunch period that a 5 foot 9 inch girl started asking me personal questions about my family, marital status and if I had kids. Mighty personal questions I tell you! Fast forward a couple of months later and after a demonstration of my cooking potential involving lemon pepper salmon she was hooked. That's our story and we are sticking to it. We leave it to you, dear family and friends, to determine who you believe.

The proposal

September 17, 2019

Our 6th year anniversary was approaching and great effort had been placed in the past years with understanding and accepting the good, bad and ugly of each other. And after much personal growth and gained wisdom, and accepting and loving all our perfect imperfections, the next step of our relationship had arrived. With much effort and secrecy, that involved Marisol having to travel to an unknown destination while sitting in a car blindfolded, we arrived to the Westin Hotel in downtown Atlanta. After the 4th day of a 5 day staycation, visiting the main attractions and entertainment spots of Atlanta, the main event had arrived. Minutes past midnight of September 17th and after a mini heart attack of me thinking I had lost the diamond ring, I quietly slipped the engagement ring on Marisol's hand as she slept. This was no easy feat my friends - it took me 3 tries to slip the ring on since Marisol is a light sleeper! The joy came in the middle of the night as Marisol, in a pitch black room, scrambled to turn on the light in the room because she felt something unusual on her finger. Boom lights come on, joy fills the room and she said yes! What happened afterwards you need not know.
