We're Getting Married!

We went to high school together and knew of each other, but were never friends! Fast foward to 2016 and we were both at our neighbor's house - we started talking and instantly hit it off. That night we exchanged numbers and texted each other about music for days.

We went to Disneyland to go to the soft opening of Galaxy's Edge. As soon as we were inside, Marisol and I wanted to experience creating our very own lightsabers. Once we created our very own elegant weapons, we went to Oga's Cantina to have a couple of drinks. That's when we met Ashlyn, another Star Wars fan that came from Florida to experience the awesome planet of Batuu. Now this worked out perfectly, I was winging the whole thing, I somewhat had an idea of what I was going to do, but it wasn't a for sure thing. On our way out of the Cantina, Marisol and Ashlyn went to the restroom. This was the perfect moment for me to take the ring out of my backpack and put it in my pocket. Once they were out we began walking towards the Millenium Falcon. At this point I walk towards Ashlyn, I hand her my phone and I tell her to start recording, she gave the "What the heck is about happen" look. I then walk over towards the Batuu photographer and I tell him, I need you to take the shot when I propose (I honestly thought he was going to take like 1 photo lol). So here we are in front of the Millenium Falcon, Ashlyn has my phone and is recording, the photographer is aiming at us and ready to shoot. I look at Marisol and I tell her "Marisol Rios, I love you with all my heart and I want to spend the rest of my life with you" I get down on one knee and say the 4 magic words "Will you marry me." I don't even think she said yes haha, I think she just hugged me and took the ring. As I look around, 1 Batuu photographer had actually turned to 3 photographers, and the rest is history. Everything had just perfectly worked out, we were escorted to take cool engagement photos, given a fast pass for Smuggler's Run, and of course, we had a couple of stormtroopers interogate us because of our lightsabers!! Overall, we had an amazing day and I wouldn't change it for the world. Thank you for taking the time to read this, I hoped you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed writing it! -Matt
