We're Getting Married!

For those who don't know our story.... Here it is! Marisol & Juan were not complete strangers! Actually Juan (Johnny) is Marisol's best friend's older brother - yes, Marisol is Rosemary's best friend! They have known each other for 30+ years. Marisol and Johnny both attended Rosemary & Freddy's wedding SOLO in 2018. Johnny was "looking for a seat" to have his dinner and Marisol quickly offered the empty seat next to her...needless to say, he never left that seat again HaHa! After a few mojitos, he finally worked up the courage to ask her to dance. At the end of the night, Johnny walked her to her ride home and they said their goodbyes, but not before Johnny asked Marisol to keep in touch. Next day, Marisol did just that and sent Johnny her phone number. They kept in touch for two years and finally made their relationship official on July 3, 2020. They haven't been apart since! This just proves that the best LOVE is unexpected!

Since the start of their relationship, Marisol & Johnny opted to travel to celebrate their birthdays every year. In 2022, Marisol had to make it extra special because it was Johnny's 50th Birthday! Marisol planned a trip to Bogota, Colombia. This was a perfect getaway as they would also celebrate their anniversary. Marisol diligently made plans to spend their anniversary weekend in Cartagena. Unbeknownst to Marisol, Johnny was making plans of his own! Marisol & Johnny spent the day relaxing and enjoying the ocean at a beach club and had dinner reservations that night. As Marisol got ready, Johnny stepped out to the Club Room downstairs "for some drinks and snacks." Marisol obviously found this odd as they already had plans for dinner, however, she didn't question it much. With the help of the hotel staff, Johnny had organized the proposal with a beautiful view - the sunset as a backdrop! Instead of heading to their dinner reservations, Johnny led Marisol to a secluded area of the hotel which was already beautifully prepped for him to POP THE QUESTION! The most beautiful sunset became the backdrop to the most memorable day of their lives! Champagne and roses awaited the couple to toast their engagement! She held back tears until she couldn't anymore as Johnny explained how much thought and detail were put into making this day happen! Their families - already accomplices - were awaiting the call announcing the engagement...happy tears from everyone! July 3, 2022 was magical and full of love. This day will forever live in their hearts!
