Our love story

Marisa and Xzavier met at 13 years old. Their journey has not been linear, but has blessed them with the opportunity to grow, learn, and change together, deepening their love over time. Their ties have been tested by many forces: the 8th grade Washington D.C. trip, Xzavier's move to Michigan in high school, a global pandemic, hours of distance between their universities, and more. Not only did they overcome each trial, but through them they learned the commitment and grace required to build a love that runs deeply and lasts a lifetime. On April 26, 2025, on a 6-year anniversary trip, Xzavier got down on one knee and asked Marisa to marry him on a pier in Cancun, Mexico. Marisa remembers asking a friend in 8th grade, "Doesn't Marisa Robertson just sound right?!" Marisa believes she has always been drawn to Xzavier because God was pushing her towards him. She can't imagine life without him and saying yes was the easiest decision she could ever make. The ring Xzavier proposed with was a collaborative effort. It included the diamond Marisa's late father, Mike, had given to Marisa's mother, Maryellen, for their own engagement. Xzavier also shared his plans to propose with his own mother, Leette, and sister, Kilee, and selected the band with their help. The collaboration and anticipation of Marisa's and Xzavier's families leading up to their engagement embodies their unwavering support, a blessing that the couple is deeply grateful for. Marisa and Xzavier's story has not paused since their engagement. In fact, their explicit commitment to one another has enabled them to grow more deeply together. In July of 2025 they moved into their first home together, where they currently live with their cats, Anubis and Yam. They began attending a local church, where they found community and purpose. On Feb 8, 2026, they took the next step in their faith and got baptized. They are thrilled to step into marriage with God at the center and a solid foundation in shared faith. As the wedding draws near, Marisa and Xzavier eagerly await the day they can officially tie the knot together, and the opportunity to celebrate their love with family and friends! They are beyond grateful for the love and support and want to thank you for being a part of their story!
