Siyi fell for Marisa on their first date at the Venice Boardwalk - literally - as she dragged him with her down to the ground on roller skates immediately off the bat. While they shared a magical first date, fate and the uncertainty of Covid barred them from seeing each other again for several weeks until they finally went on their second date hiking in Los Liones in Malibu. The two became official six months later, and they haven't looked back since. They supported each other through their respective Masters programs, traveled the world together from Japan to Spain, attended music festivals across the west coast, and share the everyday little joys in life, such as eating great food and watching anime. But most importantly, they embraced each other's weirdness and knew that no one else could match the same vibes. In summer of 2023, they welcomed two new members to the family as Marisa found a litter of stray kittens underneath her house. She fostered out them all except for two, Jazzy and Poppy, who joined the family permanently. In December 2024, exactly four years after they met for the first time, Siyi and Marisa returned to their second date spot in Los Liones where became engaged. Now they are so happy to share their special day with all of their loved ones in Bali!
