Marisa and Paul met in August 2016 when Marisa started her teaching placement at Kent Roosevelt High School. After almost a year of getting to know each other, Paul asked Marisa to go on a trip to her favorite city, Pittsburgh. It was there that Paul asked Marisa to “take this to the next level” (actual quote), and their relationship became official! The next year, Marisa started her first teaching job in Cleveland, and the couple did the “long” distance thing as Paul was in Suffield and Marisa was in Broadview Heights. In 2018, Marisa got a job at Field High School and moved herself right into Paul’s cozy bachelor cabin. In July of 2019, Paul asked Marisa to go fishing, something they love to do often. They went to the Mogadore Reservior Trail to catch some blue gill, but Marisa wasn’t having any luck. Paul said he’d look for a different lure for her, and when she turned around he was on one knee! They planned for August 2020, but like many other couples, postponed due to COVID. Now, they eagerly await their new date and can’t wait to celebrate with family and friends!
