We met at our local grocery store, when I walked right past him as he was the new cashier I would be training that work day. Everyone was dressed in the work attire (blue polo and black pants) except for Michael. He always wore a white button down long sleeve shirt with a black tie. The supervisor picked me to train him by random choice. Michael was quiet the whole shift as I was my bubbly, outgoing self who asked him tons of questions...with the main one being, "how did you get a job in Thomaston when you live in Naugatuck?", and him answering, "my dad delivers bread here". Little did we know that would be the first coincidence among the many more. A few weeks go by, and I needed to switch my shift due to the high school postponing an important class meeting. Not one coworker was available to cover my shift until I remembered about the tall, skinny, shy kid who I trained a few weeks back. I got Michael's number from our manager and asked him to switch shifts with me and he said yes...very quickly I might add. But thank God my high school had to postpone that meeting, because Michael and I have texted each other ever since that day. Finally, after months of flirting, and me rejecting him twice (for no reason at all), Michael asked me to be his girlfriend one night after work. Fun fact: we kept our relationship a secret from work for the first three months and would sneak off to a park. Michael also once slid down a slide so hard that his boney butt broke the bottom of the slide.
