Question

HOW WE MET 6/27/14

Answer

For those who are skeptical of Tinder, this match was made by swiping right! They talked for a few weeks, each asking the other about their bucket list items. They both crossed one off on the first date, which was at the Metropolitan Museum of Art rooftop bar. Even though Marisa made plans throughout the evening if the date went south, they ended up hanging out until 2am drinking Corona Light at the Boat Basin. A week later, Laura invited Marisa to a "work event" and surprised her with tickets to Phantom of the Opera, another bucket list item. Since then, they've been crossing big and small items off their lists together.

Question

THE PROPOSAL 6/29/18

Answer

After the first date it became tradition to head back to the Metropolitan Museum of Art for their Anniversary. On the 4 year anniversary, it was hot, very hot and Laura was not feeling an uncovered roof deck. After a little whining, she agreed to go for one drink. Marisa quickly downed hers, got another and then downed Laura's drink too. While Laura went up to the bar, annoyed she was getting another drink, Marisa was busy fishing through her purse to get out the ring. She quickly recruited the girl next to them on the bench to take a photo (and please don't stop taking photos!) As they posed for a picture, Marisa leaned over and asked Laura "4 years ago today, did you ever imagine I'd be proposing to you?" Unfortunately for Marisa, she surprised Laura a little too well and ended up on her knee for quite some time while Laura was in shock. After a lot of laughter and a prompting from Marisa, "that's not a yes", Laura declared an "of course!".

Question

THE PROPOSAL 2 9/5/18

Answer

Part of Laura's shock came from the fact that they had an appointment to look at rings together in August. They kept that appointment so Marisa could get an idea of what she wanted. Since Marisa knew the proposal was coming, Laura needed an element of surprise. Less than 2 weeks later, during a dinner in Marco Island, FL, Laura purposely wore her tightest dress and brought no purse, no shawl, nothing. Marisa was suspicious but couldn't figure out the plan. As the sun set on the balcony Laura asked to take a picture and pulled out a ring...which she had been hiding in her spanx the entire time! P.S. Marisa said yes right away.
