Marisa was inspecting the motorcycle helmet on the table. "Who's the idiot with the motorcycle?" Jeff was sitting at the other end. "That's me. I'm the idiot." "Well don't you know how dumb it is to ride one of those?" "Well have you ever been on one before?" "No, because I'm not stupid." "Or maybe you just don't know how much fun you might have..." They smirked at each other and knew it wasn't going to end there. They went out for breakfast a few days later and talked over pancakes and coffee for three hours. Breakfast dates turned into dinner dates and dinner dates turned into plans for the future. Both Marisa and Jeff are nurses: Jeff, Adult Emergency Medicine, Marisa, the Pediatric Cardiac ICU. They thought, "wouldn't it be fun to travel together as nurses?" But Jeff had one thing to take care of first... So, they planned a trip to Mexico. But.. Marisa wanted to get her whole hand decorated with henna on their first day in… on the LEFT hand. Jeff, trying to keep the proposal a secret, subtly suggested the other hand. Marisa, being Marisa, had her left hand done. Later in the trip, Jeff planned a Valentine’s Day dinner on the beach. Jeff then asked Marisa to be his forever, where she said "YES!!!" Then the pandemic struck… now what? Naturally, the next step being: “Let’s fly to Arkansas to get a puppy!” So that’s when Bonnie (our mini-Australian shepherd) joined the family. They went on to travel to Boston and Texas shortly after. I guess Jeff was right – “Maybe you just don’t know how much fun you might have?” We look forward to sharing our happiness with our family & friends, who have seen us grow together over these last few years. Cannot wait to celebrate with each and every one of you, on and off the dance floor! See you all soon :)
