We were both apart of this dating app called Bumble and we both "Swiped Right" on each other. During our messaging back and forth we realized that we wanted to meet each other. DJ asked me out for coffee and I made him wait a whole week before I could go out with him! During that week we texted each other every day. When July 10, 2018, rolled around it was our big day! Our first date! DJ came to pick me up for our coffee date. He was so nervous that he ran a stop sign! Luckily he did not get a ticket on our first date. During our date, our connection grew and grew. The next couple of days we continued to hang out and we became inseparable. Three years after our first date, we will be saying "I Do", and we cannot wait!
Within one short year, I had no doubt in my mind that I wanted Marisa to be mine forever. For the first time in my life, I met someone who loved me and made me want to be a better person. I decided it was time to start shopping for a ring after two years of dating because I was definitely ready. I knew I wanted to propose in December because it seemed like the perfect month at first but that quickly changed. With a lot of hints and ideas of what she wanted for a ring, I started to look. After a few months of looking, I was getting nervous because “someone” kept changing her mind about what she wanted. Once September came, I said that it was time for me to get serious and decided that it would be a lot more fun than guessing if we shopped for the ring together. We went to a few stores but couldn’t find the one ring that was going to be perfect. After we went to sit down and I saw a ring online knew it was the one. I ran straight to the store to buy it. November came and it was time to pick up the ring. I went by myself and was shown the ring and knew right then that I would not be able to wait until December. I had the perfect girl and the perfect ring. I quickly called her sister and gave her the idea of November break and had her help me put it together. We went out to dinner on November 25th and then to the Venetian (one of her favorite places in Las Vegas). For the first time in my life, I was not nervous or scared, or anxious. I went to the spot where we took pictures the year before and got down on one knee. After a small distraction with the ring box, she said, “Yes!” and I was so happy to have the perfect person in the world for me.
