Our Story: Marisa's version

I wish I could promise a quick read, but our story is almost 7 years in the making. After starting a new job in Las Vegas, I transferred to California to be closer to home. Arnie would check in on me often, always making sure that I knew he was there if I needed anything. He was easily my only friend at work and I genuinely enjoyed his company. After starting over completely, he was someone that I knew I could count on, inside and outside of our 8-5. We would spend the next 4 years in the friendzone (he will say that was NOT his choice lol). I hadn't realized, but for years, Arnie had been grounding me selflessly. He always made me feel like he loved me for simply being. When timing was right, we finally went on the first of many dates and I knew quickly that I would be so lucky to spend the rest of my life with my best friend.

Our Story: Arnie's version

And there she was, staninging in the lobby of our learning center. I was a bit thrown off to say the least. I mean sure, we've had people transfer to us before, but never someone like her. Beautiful, smart, engaging... I actually looked forward to work every morning just to be able to see her, and began to detest the weekends when she'd leave town. We became fast friends, the two of us. In just a few weeks, I really did feel like I had known her my entire life. I knew then that I loved her, and felt that she also loved me. She just needed some convincing. Life has a funny way of working itself out at its own pace, but just like I knew it would, our friendship blossomed into a beautiful relationship. Through our ups and downs, the love we have for each other has only gotten stronger, and I can't wait to continue to build and grow with you. Love you to the moon and back, flaquita.

The Engagement

Surprising Marisa is a challenge in and of its self. She is a detective in everything she does. Arnie had the ring picked out and picked up weeks prior to the big day. He had coordinately all of our closest friends and family to meet us at a park that we take Caleb to often. On the morning of, Marisa was of course, naturally, questioning ANYTHING Arnie did that seemed off. She questioned when he left the room a few seconds too long, was on his phone a little too long, breathed a little too quick, etc. When she asked if she should wear her pajamas to fly kites, it was any one's guess if she'd be surprised. When we showed up, she was quick to notice there were no kites and when Arnie got down on one knee, all our guests appeared from behind the hills. Unfortunately, our emotions short-wired our brains and we can't quote anything that was said, but we do know that we are very excited for everything that comes next.
