Kevin and I met our junior year at the vocational school Maplewood Career Center located in Ravenna, Ohio. We saw eachother in passing and then started working together at the Marcs grocery store in Ravenna. Kevin was super shy back then but I would occasanially catch him staring! ;) We became friends and we would text sometimes. He was always good at knowing when something was wrong and would check up on me. I still have a picture of us from our graduation when Kevin (nervously) asked for a picture with me. I thought it was cute! We went our seperate ways when he joined the Navy and i moved to Columbus for college. A few years later though, Kevin sent me a message on Facebook! It started out with us just catching up but quickly turned into us talking almost everyday. He was deployed at the time but we talked on Facebook messenger and occasional phone calls and snapchats...for nearly 8 months! And once Kevin’s deployment was over, I drove with Kevin’s dad and best friend to meet him in Virginia. That was the first time I had seen him in person since our high school graduation! After that, I decided to move to Virgina to live with him. We went on many adventures together, and i enjoyed living on the beach. Kevin proposed to me during our Trip to massnutten resorts in Virginia. It was right off the skyline of the mountains, and super romantic. He even asked strangers to take our picture, they did a great job! We decided not long after that to get married at the courthouse May 17, 2019. It was just me and him and my best friend and her fiance who traveled to see us. And now we would love to do what I am calling a “vow renewal” with all our family and friends!
We planned a trip to the Massanutten Resort which is only a 4 hour drive from our location in Norfolk, Virginia. We love taking weekend trips. This resort had so much to offer but we booked ice skating and snow tubing up on the mountains. After we were done ice skating, Kevin took me up one of the scenic routes to the very top, over looking the resort and mountains. Groups of people came after us and he asked a man to take pictures of us. At the last minute, Kevin asked him to take a few more pictures and thats when Kevin took out the ring! I was screaming so loud that I didnt even hear him ask the question at first. I could hear clapping and yelling in the background too - and the guy took amazing photos and even a video! It was truly magical <3
