We met, believe it or not, on Match.com. I had just moved to Portland, Oregon, started school again and knew it was time to try online dating. Josh had been in Oregon for several years now, and he started using Match.com just two weeks before I did. Josh was my first date on Match. We met at a pizza parlor, which is my favorite food, and started getting to know each other. Soon we were wanting to be together all the time, and found we had many things in common, such as a love for the outdoors, exploring new places, and trying new things. We made dating official when we went to Cannon Beach, and Josh asked me to be his significant other in front of Haystack Rock in the freezing cold and in the rain. Ever since then, we have gone on amazing adventures with friends and family together, and love that we both finally found our partner in crime for life.
After dating for almost a year, Josh and I realized we should take things to the next step. I knew he wanted to propose sometime, as he already picked the ring, but did not know when or where it was going to happen. One day we went on a hike to Forest Park in Portland, where we first kissed, and I had a feeling something might happen but wasn't sure. After hiking for a while, I noticed he kept looking forward and then backwards, and vice versa for several minutes. His breathing started to kick up a notch, and I had a feeling he was trying to pop the question but was getting nervous with people around. So I suggested to him that we take a new trail that was off the main trail, aka more private, and a little ways down he got on one knee and popped the question. Just like any other girl, I was so ecstatic and looked at him and the beautiful ring and said YES! We are so excited to celebrate our big day with everyone! See you all in Colorado!
