Valley of the Temples
Valley of the Temples: the archaeological site and the Greek temples at Agrigento. The archaeological area known as the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, Sicily, is one of the most important archeological sites in the world and a Unesco world heritage site since 1998. Along a long rocky scarp, chosen as the southern limit of the town, are still sited the great temples of ancient Akragas: the Temple of Hera< (Juno) Lacinia, Concordia, Heracles (Hercules), Olympian Zeus (Jupiter), Castor and Pollux (Dioscuri) and Hephaistos (Vulcan).
Stair of the Turks
Of the many staircases you may know, this is certainly one of the most unusual. You have already realised that this is not a real staircase, but a spectacular stretch of coastline that has become a Sicilian tourist seascape icon thanks to its special features. This white cliff is located along the stretch of sea between Realmonte and Porto Empedocle (in the province of Agrigento). Its rock is composed of marl, soft, calcareous, clayey and is a dazzling white. Nature, like a great artist, has worked this material over time, making it softly sinuous with the help of the sea and the salty breeze, forming terraces and smoothing out every angle.
Cattedrale di San Gerlando
When you’re in Agrigento you absolutely can’t miss visiting its Cathedral. Going north by the side of the Chiesa di San Domenico, you take the Via delle Orfane (to the left of the façade) to arrive at the vast piazza on which the magnificent cathedral stands. Founded towards the end of the 11th century by bishop Gerlando, the cathedral, of Norman-Gothic style, was enlarged and altered several times until the 17th century. The only remains of the original structure are the magnificent single-light windows still visible on the right. Its façade is reached by means of a wide, gentle stairway, flanked by the magnificent, unfinished 15th century bell tower. The bell tower is embellished with two tiers of blind Catalan Gothic single-light windows and a window with a balcony surmounted by a beautiful, richly adorned, Gothic arch.

OceanoMare
We highly recommend Oceanomare Beach if you want to watch the sunset while having cocktails on the beach. Situated in San Leone, a short ten-minute drive away from Agrigento Centre.
La Prosciutteria Farruggia
That is the greatest spot in town to get high-quality local products, such as mozzarella, cheese, parmigiano, prosciutto, and parma ham. Its location is right in the middle of the city.
Sitári
The most authentic Napoletan-style pizza in town. No reservations accepted, and there will be a long queue if you go after 8 o'clock, but it is worth a shot. The pizza shown here is called Parma (Mario's favourite).

Here you can find the best traditional sweets that our town has to offer. The finest Sicilian sweets include "granita al limone" and "cannoli," among many others. There is no way you can miss it!
Le Cuspidi
Some of these gelato shops can be found all over the city. They are very popular places to get ice cream. We advise you to try brioche, which is 300 grammes of gelato and costs 3.50 euros.
