Myrtle Edwards Park, and neighboring Centennial Park, are a great way to stretch your legs and enjoy the summer weather. When we go on walks, we usually head down for the pocket beaches, walking trails, and views of the water, downtown Seattle, and Olympic Mountains. It's our little paradise!
A former gas plant now used for outdoor recreation and relaxation. This park has beautiful views of Lake Union and Seattle. Fremont Brewery is walking distance from Gas Works park if you fancy a beer before or after visiting the park.
Our favorite brewery we have found in Seattle so far! Great Notion has an excellent selection of beers to choose from, and has the most unique beers we've ever tasted. Double Stack and Blueberry Muffin are two of our personal recommendations!
The Ballard Locks carry more boat traffic than any other lock in the US, and is one of the most popular attractions in Seattle. The locks also include a fish ladder, where you can watch fish jump up the steps to migrate from saltwater to freshwater.
Our first hike in Washington! A 50 minute drive from downtown Seattle, we encourage you to check out this gently sloping trail. 2.0 miles roundtrip and 400 ft gain in elevation. Northwest Forest Pass or National Forest Recreation Day Pass required ($5).
If you have a car and want some time out in wine country - head to Woodinville! Just 30 minutes outside of Seattle, Woodinville has many wineries and even some distilleries to tour. Chateau Ste Michelle is our favorite!
