Monuts
Whenever Mario is in town we always end up here before he goes back to VA! Suggested menu item: BISCUIT with bacon, egg, and cheese (for Mario)...AND a donut! The apple cider donut is definitely a favorite! :)
Eno River State Park
The Eno is a go-to for locals, and a great place for a stroll or hike through the many trails. There are multiple entrances, but one of Mario and Jena's favorites is the Cole Mill entrance.
Occoneechee Mountain State Natural Area
A MOUNTAIN in the middle of Hillsborough!! According to Mario it is more of a "hill" but it is still worth a visit. A short hike to the top followed by a stroll around downtown Hillsborough makes for a great day!
Burger Bach
If you have time, you want to eat here! Best burgers AND best fries hands down! Just go, the meat is from New Zealand so it must be good!
The Streets at Southpoint
Need to shop? The Streets at Southpoint is the closest mall. There are many restaurants, a movie theater, and a Super Target...let's be real, Jena goes for the Target!
NC Farmer's Market
Seriously, if you have time, the NC Farmer's Market in Raleigh is a great stop. There are booths upon booths of produce, fresh plants and flowers, a restaurant with killer pancakes, and lots of local treats. Plan to spend at least an hour taking it all in!
