COVID Update

Masks will be provided for all guests!!! Our guests' safety is extremely important to us and we plan to take every precaution possible. We are still solidifying all precautionary measures, and will continue to update this website to inform our guests, but at a minimum the following will be implemented: -The church is practicing social distancing, and will seat people six feet apart. Families can sit together, of course! -Cocktail hour will be held in both the small hall and the outdoor area, to allow plenty of room for social distancing. -The main hall where the reception will be held has a max occupancy of 450 people, meaning there is plenty of space to configure the seating area to allow for extra tables to allow for six feet of physical distance between individuals. -All working staff will be wearing masks. -Certain activities that would involve people gathering will not take place, such as the receiving line. -We will ensure there is an appropriate flow plan, to reduce any bottlenecks or pinch points. -There will be plenty of alcohol-based hand sanitizers containing at least 60% alcohol. -More to come! Additional information can be found on the FAQ page. And if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to Marinos or me! How We Met

2005

Stephanie and Marinos met, according to Marinos, "a long ass time ago." In 2006, Stephanie wrote on Marinos's Facebook wall asking if Marinos knew how to write in Greek so she could write to her YiaYia. There had always been a feeling of comfort for the both of them in having a Greek friend around. From there, it was the annual birthday wishes, seeing each other in class and the halls of West Potomac, and hanging out at the occasional party or outing while on breaks from college and after college. They always kept in touch and they always made a point to catch up over a shot of Ouzo. Fifteen years and many Ouzo shots later, the two finally realized that there might be something there. Stephanie saw Marinos for the kind, caring, loving prankster that he was, and Marinos finally listened to his mother and asked the Greek girl out. After that first date, they both realized that those 15 years of friendship had laid the foundation for their happily ever after.

The Proposal

April 27 2019

The proposal took place at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. On that day Stephanie thought they were going with Nicole and Thomas to show Ava the monuments. When they arrived, Marinos and Stephanie headed towards the Lincoln Memorial. On the way up, Nicole yelled "wait!" and Stephanie turned around to see little Ava wearing a shirt that said "Will you make Marinos my uncle?" When Stephanie turned back around Marinos was down on one knee. And the crowd went wild!!!!!
