Our back story began nearly ten years ago, when Gideon’s older sister reached out to my mom about her high school ASL classes. I had a little girl’s crush on him from the start! Over the years, our families became close—sharing dinners, dance studios, and many fond memories. Gideon and I took the same ballet and jazz classes for a time. When his sister graduated, life pulled our families in different directions. For about four to five years, only crossing paths during the annual Nutcracker ballet, where we both performed in. Then, halfway through my sophomore year, I returned to homeschool classes in our hometown… and there he was. That same boy I had always carried a quiet crush on—and somehow, it all came rushing back. Only this time, it wasn’t one-sided. The beginning of forever. Our first official date was at a local country dance hall, where we spent warm summer nights two-stepping together beneath twinkle lights and Texas skies. We truly fell in love through dancing—our hands clasped, hearts open, and feet in sync. Over the years, we’ve built something special. Our love is rooted in faith, strengthened by shared values, and made real by choosing each other in every moment—especially the hard ones. We’ve learned to grow through our struggles, to forgive through our flaws, and to love each other more deeply through every season. On our three-year anniversary, May 9th, Gideon proposed in a hidden sloped field behind the town baseball field—surrounded by trees and winding trails, a place that felt quiet and real, much like our love: a little messy, always growing, and deeply rooted in something lasting. Now, as we step into marriage, this next chapter means so much more than just a new title. To us, it’s a commitment to grow, to struggle with purpose, and to love with intention. It’s a promise of friendship, faith, and the adventure of building a life together—wherever that may take us.
