It’s kind of crazy how much our minds are really capable of. For instance.. replaying a memory. We tend to take our memories and put them into to these little compartments. Then over time we reminisce on those memories, creating these stories in our heads that are so vivid its as if they happened yesterday. I can remember laying next to Alec back in November of 2016, after just a few weeks of being inseprable and undeniably attracted to one another. There we were, the sun had gone down, the lights were off, snacks were everywhere, we had been playing Diablo3 for hours, just being our dorky selves letting time pass by casually. I was wearing jeans and a plain jane grey tee-shirt, he was wearing these cream colored pants that he had with a blink 182 shirt. Things were simple and yet absolutely perfect. Alec looked over at me with this expression on his face (the one where he looks as though he came up with some sort of master plan), and then proceeded to say “Lets run off and get married.” I just looked at him totally serious and said “Okay lets go!” Then he stopped, and I mean he just froze. In those few moments that went by he just stared at me with this really big smile on his face. Then he said “So if your crazy enough to be my wife your crazy enough to be my girlfriend right?” That was it... that was the start of our Happily Ever After. Ordinary but yet comletely Extrordinary.
November 30th 2019 The night was cold, houses and trees were twinkling from the christmas lights, it was the time of year that is considered to be the “happiest” by the majority. Alec wanted to go to PPG Place to see the very well known Christmas Tree in the center of the Ice Rink in downtown Pittsburgh (which is my hometown, something I too was most eager to go to.) The seasons spirits were high. Horse drawn carriages, hot chocolate, tons of smiles and laughter.. the best way to bring the year to an end and be with those you love. Alec and I were standing in front of the perfectly lit Christmas Tree about to get a picture taken to capture the breath taking scenery. I rested my hand on his chest to pose for the picture, just then I felt his heart nearly beating out of his chest, and before I could ask him if everything was alright he got down on one knee, holding the most beautiful ring. He looked me right in the eyes with that smile that just melts me on the inside and said, “I think that I have made you wait long enough.. Will you Marry Me?” Without any hesitation, holding all of my excitment inside, I nodded yes. Promising forever and leaning in for the kiss that he was impatiently waiting to give me.. the first of many kisses as a newly engaged couple.
