The University of Iowa's art museum, which features a number of different collections and exhibitions (of largely modern art). Admission is free of charge.
Stop by the UI's Museum of Natural History to see a broad range of collections that comprise over 140,000 specimens, objects, and artifacts (including archeology, mammology, and entomology). Admission is free of charge.
Go shopping at the Coral Ridge mall in Coralville (~20 minute from downtown). There is also a movie theater (Marcus Theaters).
