Do you have questions? Do you need more details? Please look through all the Q&A's below. If we didn't answer your question, give us a call!
Question

When should we RSVP by?

Answer

As soon as possible please! At the latest we need to have your RSVP by June 10th to confirm with all the vendors. Thank you!

Question

What should we pack?

Answer

The Northern California Coast has mildly chilly weather in July. Count on warm sunny days and cool breazy evenings. The coast is big and rugged. Bring hiking shoes if that's something you are interested in. Otherwise, Marilyn finds flip flops work great! Shorts and t-shirts will probably be fine, but always have something to warm up in nearby. If you have binoculars and cameras, we definitely recommend bringing them. There's bountiful wildlife around including birds, otters and the occasional whale.

Question

What do we wear to the wedding?

Answer

We will be the ones barefoot in wedding attire lol, but you can wear anything that is comfortable for the beach, but nice enough for wedding photos :) Shoes are optional once on the beach, but barefoot is usually best in the sand! We will have a spot on the beach for you to drop your shoes.

Question

Getting to the Beach...

Answer

Although it's a short walk from the Inn to Cooks Beach, there is a long staircase leading down to the beach. The stairs are in good condition and not very steep, however, there are a lot of them. On wedding night, we will provide rides if needed to and from the beach. There is parking for about 5 cars along the road for those that plan to drive themselves.

Question

Are there any personal care services available nearby?

Answer

If you want to get your hair, makeup or nails done while in Gualala, there are a few places in town. You can try Tangles Hair Salon, Rumors All About Hair, Attraction Hair Salon, and Mane St. Salon. You may want to book an appointment ahead of time to ensure availability!

Question

Where can we find food?

Answer

There are several small restaurants in the local town of Gualala. Our favorites are Trinks Cafe and The Vue Coastal Kitchen. St. Orres is also a restaurant and serves dinner daily out of the dining room in the lobby. It may be closed for in-person dining due to Covid, BUT you can get your order to go. They have amazing housemade rosemary bread that we can't get enough of! If you want to stock up on some of your favorites for the week, there are two main grocery stores in Gualala. We like to refer to them as fancy on the right and down home on the left. Whatever mood your in, you can pick your store!

Question

Do cell phones and internet work?

Answer

Cell phones may stop working once past the town of Jenner heading North on the CA-1. Luckily, St. Orres has wifi in some of the rooms and I'm sure we can share. The Inn has a landline (if you remember those) and you can make calls out if needed. If you drive further North to Mendocino or Fort Bragg you will get your cell service back.

Question

Where are the closest medical services?

Answer

Redwood Coast Medical Services has an Urgent Care open Monday-Friday from 8AM to 6PM. Located at 46900 Ocean Drive, Gualala, CA 95445. Off hours call 707-884-4005.

Question

What airports are nearby?

Answer

Sacramento, Oakland and San Francisco are all major airports in the area. Oakland tends to be the cheapest, but you can look at the map and figure out which one you want to drive from. Its a long drive up the winding coastal highway and you should plan 3-4 hours to get to Gualala from any of the airports.

Question

Do I need a rental car?

Answer

If you plan on driving from the airport, yes! Although it seems obvious, you may want to reserve your car now if possible because there is scarce inventory and prices are going up.
