Anwar and I met in 2017 at William & Mary. Our first "official" date was at the school dining hall, where Anwar, a true gentleman, used his dining credits to buy me lunch. Next thing I knew, I was driving to DC to attend Anwar’s family New Year’s party. At this point, we could deny it no longer, and we were official. During our remaining time at school, we spent most of our time together, from date parties to Swem Library study sessions and cozy movie nights. We remember the times fondly, like when I baked Anwar peppermint brownies and Oreo bark for Christmas and Anwar threw me a surprise 20th birthday party. After Anwar graduated in 2018, he returned home to DC, where I joined him a year later. Before getting my first apartment in DC, I spent several months living with Anwar and his family, returning again to temporarily quarantine during the peak of the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. In January 2022, we officially moved into our own apartment together, creating a home in Adams Morgan, where we have lived ever since. In between all of this, we began traveling the world together, starting with a visit to Anwar’s sister in Barbados. Since then, we have explored Belize, Argentina, Italy, Panama, the UK, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Germany. It was during our most recent trip to Switzerland in September 2025 that Anwar popped the question against the unbelievable backdrop of the Swiss Alps. On November 15th, 2025, we were married in an intimate ceremony surrounded by close family in my hometown of Roanoke, Virginia. We are thrilled to celebrate with a larger group of friends and family exactly one year later in Washington, DC.
