How We Met

Beach Soccer to Oktober Fest

They first met at a beach soccer league in Long Beach, CA. Aldo noticed Marilyn and wanted to get to know her more. They would practice beach soccer together and went to mutual friend hang outs. One night he finally asked her out on a date at Oktoberfest in Huntington Beach, CA on September 29th, 2016. They have been inseparable ever since!

The Proposal

Cancun Proposal: August 11th, 2018

2018 was a big year for Aldo and Marilyn : they bought a house, got a puppy (Einstein), and changed jobs! They went to Cancun to celebrate a year well done! After a day snorkeling the crystal blue waters of Isla Mujeres and relaxing on the beach of their Cancun resort, Aldo suggested that they should go to a nice dinner. They dressed up and went to dinner at an Italian restaurant named Luna where they enjoyed the best shrimp topped pizza they ever had. Aldo bought Marilyn a rose and was very nervous that night. He was in a rush to get back to the resort and walk on the beach. When they were on the beach, they walked hand in hand and Marilyn could tell Aldo was tense and shaky. There were fireworks in the distance overlooking the beach because the resort's view was downtown Cancun. As Marilyn was in awe of the fireworks, Aldo got down on one knee and asked: "Marilyn Jessica Meza, will you be my wife and marry me? ".

Wedding Day

Why this means so much to us

Aldo and Marilyn met at Long Beach playing soccer. Aldo asked out Marilyn at Huntington Beach when hanging out with friends. Later he asked her to be his girlfriend outside a beach restaurant at Catalina Island. He finally asked her to be his wife on the white sands of Cancun. The beach is important to both of them. It is a sign of beginnings, adventure, love, and place to escape. That is why we are so excited to share our special day with you at the Santa Monica Carousel. This place holds a big place in Marilyn's heart because her grandfather, Papa Ramon, would always take her to the pier and even though he is not with us today, having our event here will honor his memory.
