How We Met?

First we were friends, then we became lovers.

We met at church. Super cliché, I know! It's pretty funny because when we first introduced ourselves to each other, I told Duran only my close friends and family call me “Jacy” and he could call me Marikah. He laughed and it has been jokes between us ever since that day. From being extremely resistant and shy (marikah of course, duran knew what he wanted from day one) to becoming each other's best friends, we grew so much together. We started our relationship officially long distance while he went away to another state for college ( while I studied here in NY), seeing each other on video calls, then on every vacation, then repeat. It was a big challenge, but we made it. We knew that we wanted to fight for each other and make it work. Now, we are choosing to have a forever life together, through thick and thin. We know that it will not be an easy road, but with love always in the center, we will be just fine. We are getting married! The chocolates!

The Perfectly Imperfect Pair

We like to do things differently, break traditions and make our own path. We keep it real and we like to just be ourselves. We are not perfect at all, nor do we claim to be. As human beings, people have such high expectations, and when one slip up is made we tend to point fingers and talk, however, I want you to always remember that we are all sinners who are not perfect. Love is the thing that drives our relationship. It may get hard, but once we are grounded in that love we will make it. "You come to love not by finding the perfect person, but by seeing an imperfect person perfectly." #TheMillerLove

Why I chose him?

He was an answered prayer.

Here's my story. Duran was and still is an answered prayer. I only shared this with probably two people, but a few years back I wrote God a letter. I got vulnerable. I was angry and tired of giving my “likes” away to people who didn't deserve it. I literally wrote down everything I wanted in a man, a real one. From personality to traits to having a real relationship with God and so on. I found the letter a few years ago and I was baffled that everything I wrote down, I found it in Duran. How amazing it is that God always answers prayers on HIS time. He is not a perfect person, no one is...however I wouldn't choose anyone else but him. He's intentional in what he does, focused on us prospering together and solid in Jesus. These are the reasons I chose him, my forever love. This is my testimony.

Why I chose her.

She was my answered prayer.

Here's my story. Stay tuned until the wedding day, it is going to be good!

God is the center of our love.

Without a love for God, an understanding of God's love throughout our relationship and our own personal experiences with God, we would never last.

We Love You!

We are so thankful for our family and friends who has been a constant reminder of what love is. We appreciate all the prayers, advice, well wishes and love we are consistently shown. Please remember that you have played an important role in our lives. We cannot wait to share one of the best moments of our lives with you!
