Our Story
We met on February 25th, 2023! We planned for our first date to be at a cute coffee shop on Camano Island but realized the day before that they were all closed..so we met at the Starbucks in Stanwood and chatted for over four hours :) We spent the next year and a half dating 'mid distance' (Marika in Seattle, Shawn in Oak Harbor) as we got to know each other and explored the places we called home. In July of 2024, Marika moved up to Oak Harbor and we finally got to live in the same town😊 On November 16th, 2024, Shawn planned an 8am 'walk' at our favorite beach, Joseph Whidbey State Park (Marika was a little suspicious, Shawn does not usually plan walks at 8am on a Saturday😂) where he proposed!
