We’re getting hitched!

As all truly remarkable, and unexpected love stories go: We met in a foreign land in 05 (Kuwait) where circumstances threw us together (a deployment) and sparks flew when given the opportunity to colaborate ( A talent show competition, singing Whiskey Lullaby- depressing!) 11 years later: Marika, living in TX, had decided retail was just no longer it! Reaching out to Dan for some help with her resume, this led to a free course offered by Dan’s company for Veterans. It was sink or swim time! Marika took the course and passed! With just a promise in place, she quit her job and moved to VA to start a new adventure! With great risk comes great reward! No longer seperated by thousands of miles (1,310 to be exact) these two crazy kids rekindled their friendship, becoming eachothers sounding boards, support systems, concert buddies, and Cards Against Humanities teammates! HOT CHEESE and BEES? No way could two people have so much fun together am l right? Dan asked Marika out on their first date in May 2018, a romantic game of bowling ensued! Oh yes, it was those rental shoes that did it in! ROMANCE BLOSSOMED! Wanting to level up, they decided to travel to another country together! On Novmember 22nd in Sevilla, Spain, at the top of the La Giralda, after having been dragged at rapid speed up the 35 ramps to get to the top ( We were on a tour folks and only had 20 mins! I am not an animal here!) Marika quickly snatched a window box, securing a spot for Dan and her to gaze out over Sevilla for the first time! Dan grabbed a near-by tourist and requested a picture of the two of them be taken. Marika turned to face the camera to smile, Dan turned to face Marika and dropped down to one knee, popping the big Q: Do these shoes make me look fat? J/K! Dan asked Marika to marry him, and of course she said YES! Otherwise this whole story would be akward right now! We are so excited for the next big adventure in our lives and thrilled you have decided to be a part of it!
