Mariela was on her way to one of the most important job interviews of her life and Drew was called upon by his boss to attend the interview where he had no idea, he would meet his future wife. Mariela, Drew, and the office manager met for happy hour and after Mariela nailed the interview Drew was put on the spot and asked if he thought Mariela should be offered the job. Although he was caught off guard, it was a no brainer, and she was hired on the spot! He got her number so he could “invite her to work events so she could meet her fellow coworkers” and she subsequently didn’t respond to any of his invites. Fast forward to January, Mariela was a few weeks into the job, and both were in Orlando attending their company’s winter conference. Universal Theme Park had been rented out at night for quality team bonding and when Drew jumped out of the Minions ride line because it was too long, Mariela followed while the crowd stayed behind, and they ended up spending the rest of the evening together. What started out as a few rounds on the Hulk coaster and Harry Potter ride turned into a first date and the rest is history!
