Our journey hasn’t been a straight line, but God has guided every step. Anwar served our country with honor, and when he returned home searching for his next purpose, I was trying to start a new career in pharmaceutical marketing and looking forward to what I thought would be an amazing future. But God had a different plan, because “the Lord establishes our steps” (Proverbs 16:9). On a trip to the Dominican Republic, when neither of us was looking for love, God brought us together. From the first moment we met, there was peace and a spark that we knew came from Him. We built a life, were married by law, and were blessed with two beautiful children Anwar and Lilly. Through every season, we’ve learned that “a cord of three strands is not quickly broken” (Ecclesiastes 4:12). Today, we stand here by choice and by faith, placing our marriage fully in God’s hands—promising to love each other with patience and grace, because “love endures all things” (1 Corinthians 13:7). Today, we choose each other again.
