We kindly ask that you reserve your spot before June 1st as this is a destination wedding, we have a waiting list and want to give everyone ample time to book their travel.
All wedding celebration events will be adults-only — time to enjoy a well-deserved getaway and leave the kids with grandma ;)
We will be there with our immediate family and friends from Wednesday, March 10th through Wednesday, March 17th. You are welcome to join us at any point during this time, especially if you would like extra days to explore cenotes or other beautiful areas of Tulum. At a minimum, we recommend staying five nights (Thursday, March 11th through Tues day, March 16th) so you can attend all wedding events and enjoy more time relaxing under the sun. Of course, whatever you can make work will be more than appreciated — we are just excited to celebrate with you!
The three hotels we recommend — where you can use our 15% discount code (WEDMM) — are: Alaya Tulum (about a 3-minute walk from the wedding venue) Casa Ganesh Tulum (about an 8-minute walk) Ahau Tulum (about a 13-minute walk) There are also many great hotel options along the main jungle road, so feel free to explore and choose what suits you best — just note that our discount code is only valid at the three locations listed above.
There is a Delta Air Lines flight from Detroit (DTW) to Tulum (TQO) with a single layover in Atlanta. From the Tulum airport, it is approximately a 40-minute drive to the hotels. This airport is brand new and typically has lighter traffic. The second option is a direct flight into Cancún (CUN). From there, you can rent a car or arrange transportation, but the drive to the hotels is nearly two hours. We do not recommend renting a car due to the cost of and difficulty finding parking. Note: We rented a car the first time and made it work, but found that we barely used it. We ended up walking or using a scooter most of the time — which was way more fun anyway!
Our wedding planners can help arrange your transportation to and from the airport and your hotel. Please use the contact information below and plan ahead — try not to wait until you land to avoid extended waiting times. Ride services: gabo@marioolverac.com | +52 553 037 8206

Our itinerary should keep you plenty busy, but if you decide to extend your stay, there is so much more to explore — like Mayan ruins and cenotes. The main jungle road is also filled with great attractions, restaurants, beach spots, and even the iconic Jungle Gym where all the workout equipment is made from wood! There are also plenty of excursions to choose from, including deep sea fishing, scuba diving, surfing, snorkeling, ATV tours and more. Be sure to check out the “Things To Do” tab for additional ideas!
At the Welcome Party, we will be hosting an hour of tacos, beer, and margaritas. After that, the restaurant will remain open for guests to purchase additional food and drinks. Festivities to follow! The After-Wedding Beach Party is a time to relax, reminisce, and keep the celebration going at our private hotel and beach with great music and good vibes. Food and drinks are not included but will be available for purchase at the restaurant throughout the day.
Our wedding planners will be organizing this event and securing a yacht to accommodate our group size. The total cost will be shared among everyone who chooses to participate, and payment will be collected by our wedding planners. Final pricing will depend on the total number of attendees, which is why we ask that you RSVP and select “Yes” to the Caribbean Boat Day option if you plan to join. At this time, we anticipate the cost to be approximately $100 per person. Exact timing, event details and final cost will be shared as we get closer!
Wedding day attire is formal. Women are encouraged to wear long beach dresses and men should wear standard suits (no tie required). The ceremony will take place on the beach, jungle dinner and dancing in the bar — restaurant area. Please note: White is reserved — no white attire for women. The Welcome Party is semi-formal beach vibes. All other events are casual beachwear and bathing suits are perfect.
We will not have a registry since this is a destination wedding and our new house will still not be done yet. Thank you!
