It’s finally happening!

Fate intervened one night at a Sheraton LAX employee party, you know, the way all love stories begin. Daniel's dad, Jesse, had recognized Mariel, who was the niece of his friends at work. Having not seen Mariel since she was a familiar face at Daniel's childhood birthday parties, he asked if she had re-met his son at a high school she had recently transferred to. He encouraged her to meet him and in the next month, a chance run in on the second floor of the Science building at Santa Monica High happened. But don't worry, Daniel's lack of game prevented that meeting from going anywhere at all. It wasn't until the following year on a civil rights trip in the South, over a pint of Ben and Jerry's ice cream, that a love began to blossom. After dancing the night away at Prom, graduation came as well as Daniel's departure to Boston. After a few years apart, Daniel asked Mariel to dinner and what started as one dinner grew into over 10 years of love, laughs and more dinners. Mariel will tell you it was a long time coming that on November 14th, 2020, Daniel got down on one knee and finally asked Mariel, 26 years later, to be his wife.
