Rosewood is a national award winning beach that features a nature cove for ecological and nature programs, guarded swimming beach, and a recreation beach. Nestled against Rosewood’s wooded bluffs is a one-of-a-kind beachfront Interpretive Center and amenity buildings including concessions, restrooms, and guard building connected by a boardwalk that runs the length of the beach. A Rosewood Beach Swimming Pass is required for each individual to access the swimming and recreation beach coves during the swimming hours (10am-6pm daily) and a new lakefront parking decal is required for all vehicles at all lakefront parking lots. Residents are required to purchase a decal.
The Green Bay Trail is a rails with trails built on the former Chicago North Shore and Milwaukee Railroad. It runs parallel to Metra's Union Pacific / North Line for nearly nine miles from Wilmette, Illinois, to Highland Park, Illinois.[2] It was originally a path used by various users between the Chicago area and the Green Bay, Wisconsin, area.
