While on a trip to see family in Alberta, Scott planned the perfect day for a proposal. The adventure really started the evening before when Marie and Scott visited Pleasantview Farm, the farm that was homesteaded by Marie's family over 120 years ago. They visited with Marie's Grandma and Aunt all evening and discussed the plans for their future wedding (although Marie had no idea how quickly the planning would start to be real). Early the next morning, Marie and Scott were on the road to Banff National Park where they would finally be able to see Lake Louise (after a failed attempt in 2022). Once arriving at Lake Louise, the couple walked around the perimeter of the lake taking in the half-frozen lake and snow-capped mountains from all angles. Finally, when they reached the opposite end of the lake and the crowds began to die down, Scott decided it was time. Luckily for him, Marie felt awkward asking anyone to take their photo so she opted for a self setup video instead. After a long 5 minutes of setting up the video on a rock, Scott was both excited and nervous. All the while, Marie had no idea what was about to happen. They took a moment together before Scott started to get down on one knee and Marie suddenly realized the time had come. Marie had dreamed about this moment with Scott for years now but she could have never imagined how beautiful and picturesque the moment would be. After she said yes (of course!), Marie's favorite part was hearing the stories of all of the love that went into planning this day for them. Scott had booked a stunning hotel in Canmore, with a view of the snowy mountains from the room. It was a perfect day.
