Flight
Best for: Direct flights from the US and a beautiful coastal drive. NCE is an excellent choice for our guests, especially those flying from the United States, as it offers the most direct, non-stop flight options from major US cities (like New York etc., depending on the season). Driving: The scenic drive to Bandol takes approximately 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours (160 km). We highly recommend booking an airport transfer as parking for a rental car will be difficult in Bandol. Most hotels charge a daily parking fee and public parking is hard to manage. Train: The train journey takes about 2.5 to 3 hours and requires one change (take the airport shuttle to Nice train station, then connect to the train for Bandol Station). Private Transfer/Taxi/Uber: Available directly from the airport.
Flight
Best for: Closest proximity to Bandol and easy onward travel. MRS is the closest major airport to our wedding location. While it may require a one-stop connection in Europe if you are flying from the US, it minimizes your travel time once you land in France. Train: The train journey takes about 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes. Take the shuttle train from the airport to Marseille St. Charles Station, then a frequent regional train directly to Bandol Station. Private Transfer/Uber/Taxi: The fastest option! The drive to Bandol takes only 50 minutes to 1 hour (70 km) on the A50 highway. Driving: Renting a car is easy enough however public parking in Bandol is hard to find and should be provisioned in advance. Most hotels will charge a daily parking rate. If you rent a car - consider exploring your parking options in advance. Cars are not required during wedding weekend as all events are walkable.
Flight
Best for: Maximum flight availability and a fast high-speed rail experience. Flying into Paris (Charles de Gaulle - CDG or Orly - ORY) offers the most frequent direct flight options from the United States. This is a great choice if you plan to spend time in the capital city first. High-Speed Train (TGV): This is the most efficient way to travel south. The TGV train from Paris Gare de Lyon to the Bandol area takes approximately 4 hours 15 minutes to 5 hours. You will take a high-speed train to Marseille St. Charles or Toulon, and then transfer to a short local train (TER) to Bandol Station. Driving: Driving from Paris is not recommended as it takes approximately 8 hours and is not significantly faster than the TGV.
