United Airlines from Newark currently provides direct flights to Dubrovnik. Other airlines may eventually start providing but would have to look that up.
Flight
Flying out of JFK requires a layover. These are the most popular airlines to fly from NYC to Dubrovnik are United Airlines, British Airways, American Airlines, Delta & Aer Lingus. There are other airlines that fly to Dubrovnik but the above are the most popular. Can find other alternatives using Kayak, Expedia, or other travel sites. Please note that United, Delta, and American Airlines offer group discounts for groups with a minimum of 10 people. If interested and have enough people contact one of the airlines for more information. *Give yourself a minimum of 2 hours during your layover. Every airport has different requirements which may hinder your ability to get to your connecting flight.* ***Also avoid Gatwick Airport in London if possible. Place is abysmal.
Travel Note
Shuttle Service - to Dubrovnik Palace Hotel can be arranged through their website. Best way to roam around Dubrovnik is using Uber as it is considered cheaper then hailing taxis. You can also use there local app called Bolt which is like their Uber. Car Rental - we don't recommend renting a car unless you plan on traveling outside of Dubrovnik as it is not necessary to get around. Bus tranportation is also available. Do not know much about it as I did not use but was told it is very good.
Travel Note
Credit Card - recommend using credit card as much as possible. The majority of vendors, restaurants, etc accept credit card. Provides best exchange rate and would recommend using credit cards with no foreign transaction fees. Cash - Croatia uses the Euro. Recommend taking out some cash at the aiport ATM for small miscellaneous expenses. Keep in mind the exchange rate fluctuates so keep up to date. Language - Obvi they speak Croatian but you will not have a problem as the majority speak English. Alternate Hotel Booking - If you are booking at another hotel or Airbnb. Please keep in mind that the city is hilly so some accomodations might be difficult to access for some. Please make sure to read the description and or reviews of property in detail.
