Let’s go back to March of 2020 - yes, the same time that the world shutdown for COVID. We met the same week that everyone was told to stay at home. We figured we would talk and get to know each other over the next two weeks and once the quarantine period was over, we would go out on a date. Well two weeks turned into two months and we realized that COVID was not going anywhere. Restaurants started to open up again so we decided to take the chance and go out on our first date. Our first date was going great - we were having good conversation and getting to know each other more. At one point in the date, Mari thought she ruined her chances with this handsome guy when she slipped in a joke about Troy’s athletic abilities. As Mari looked up from her plate worried he would be offended, he had a smile on his face and began laughing, surprised she made the joke without skipping a beat in conversation. Our first date led to a second and soon we were spending as much time together as we could. Fast forward to October 2020. We spent the day in Fredericksburg wine tasting and spending quality time together. That evening, we stumbled on a little saloon that had a country band playing. We two-stepped all night (one of our favorite things to do) and at the end of the evening, we shared what had been on our hearts - that we loved each other. A year later, Troy took Mari back to Fredericksburg to the same little saloon where he first said “I love you” and asked her to marry him. We cannot wait to enter into the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony and celebrate our love with each and every one of you!
