In September 2019, it was being laid on my heart to move from Charlotte to Nashville. I was happy in Charlotte but I also had family (my sister Monica's family) in Nashville so I started praying on it and every time I visited that fall, I tried to picture if I could live in Nash. In September, Jordan (my brother in law) presented me a 360 slide powerpoint presentation of all the apartments in Nashville. One caught my eye that I could picture living in - Residence at Capitol View. I asked Monica and Jordan to go tour it on my behalf and they loved it. I kept an eye on the prices and floorplans on the website and couldn't stop thinking about it. I had my eye on an apartment on the 6th floor but I was in Utah for work and it was signed. Since I didn't act on it, I had to wait for the next 1 bedroom to open up. Thankfully that December, a 1 bedroom opened up on the 5th floor and I quickly snagged it for a January 2nd move in. My mom said she would do whatever it takes to help me move. So after that Christmas, she flew back with me to Charlotte on December 27th to start packing my apartment up. Jordan then flew out on January 1st to help load the truck, he drove the truck back to Nashville while my mom and I were in my car. It was a bitter sweet goodbye because I loved Charlotte but I was excited for a new chapter in Nashville! Fast forward, I moved in all day January 3rd-5th. We quickly set my apartment up and it was all hands on deck to try to get everything done by the start of work on Monday. I had Xfinity coming out on Saturday to set up my wifi and Jordan said I could save the $120 install and that he would do it for me instead! So I quickly canceled Xfinity coming. (Little did I know at the time, that this was ALL a God thing). Jordan ended up not being able to get it and it was trickier and this apartment set-up was something he hadn't seen before. I was leaving for Utah on Monday evening for another work trip, so he said that he would get Xfinity back and come to my apartment for the set up during the week for me. We continued settling in and unpacking and getting everything ready to hit the ground running! (Thank you mom!!) Monday morning rolls around and we have a weekly 9AM sales call. Since I didn't have wifi in the apartment, I walked downstairs to Starbucks for their wifi. Sitting next to me was the cutest guy! I had a cold from being run down, I was in a hot pink beanie, no make up, but I couldn't not talk to him! Something in me knew that if he left and I never talked to him again, I would regret it! I instantly texted my mom, Monica, and Jordan and said "I am sitting next to the cutest guy in Starbucks!" I turned to him and asked him "What wifi are you on? I can't get my laptop to connect" (I needed something to break the ice)!!! He "helped" me connect to Starbucks wifi and I said "thank you! I just moved in across the street and don't have wifi set up yet". He said "I live across the street too" I said "you do?! What floor?" he said "5th floor" and I lived on the 5th floor too! Ironically, but not coincidently, he had moved from Charlotte in January of 2019. I was giddy talking to him for about 30 minutes and conversation and banter just flowed effortlessly. I was obsessed from the first second I met him! Brandon got my number that morning but didn't text me for 2 months later until a Tornado came through Nashville on March 1, 2020 at 2 AM. (More on that later)! In those 30 minutes of chatting, not only was he tall, dark hair, incredibly handsome. He was a Christian, so sweet, charming, career oriented, etc. We connected on every level it felt like! I flew to Utah that evening and sat there on the plane wishing he would text me! God is so cool! He laid it on my heart to move to Nashville, led me to the right apartment, the right place, the right time. What a God thing that the Wifi not being connected on the Saturday I moved in, led me to my future husband.
