Facebook Dating actually! Yes, Facebook has a dating module, and yes it's private to your friends so nobody will know you're on there. lol We had our first date March 2023.
We got engaged on November 7, 2024 in Birch Bay, WA. We visited for the weekend for Xavier's birthday and he popped the Q!

In this economy...? But really, neither of us are big showy people and the performative nature of a big wedding wasn't appealing to either of us, as well as our chosen venue size restrictions. Public speaking is scary, and publicly speaking about feelings is even scarier. Plus, we would rather spend our money on a travel experience or some home renovation projects...if you know us, this shouldn't surprise you. ;) It was incredibly difficult to make the decision to keep it micro and please know that we truly missed partying with all of our people and sharing this special event. But we will have our own celebration next time we get together one on one! <3
It took place at a small penthouse apartment rental above Karam PDX Restaurant in downtown PDX. Karam was able to do all the food & decor as a package deal, which kept it nice, simple, and affordable! We thought about a more natural venue, but also decided with the unpredictability of the weather in winter, maybe best to keep it to a small cozy outdoor/indoor place. And just look at those city views! #hearteyes
- 3 months after meeting Mari bought plane tickets to join Xavier and his family on a trip to Paris and Brussels. #strangerdanger? - Mari brought 2 kitties, Eowyn and Eevee, into the relationship and Xavier brought a crested gecko named Martin. 9 months after meeting we adopted a pup named Palo! - Xavier is left handed, Mari is right handed. Yes, we have to take that into account when dining in a booth at a restaurant. - So far, our favorite activities together have been bowling, playing pool, camping, and traveling. We also thoroughly enjoy going to Costco and trying not to spend money.
We have actually gotten this question quite a few times so decided to throw one together. See "Registry" tab for the links! Gifts aren't necessary, though much appreciated.
YES! Hawaii in March!
