One drunken Thursday night in March 2018, Nick and Mari's story began at a local bar in their college town. While Mari was ordering her vodka cran, Nick caught her eye from across the bar. As the night went on, he happened to walk past her, and she slipped her arm through his. Numbers were exchanged, setting the stage for a connection that would define their future. Amidst Nick’s busy schedule on the URI track team, the two spent every moment together that they could. Less than a month later, they officially were a couple. The rest is history. Fast forward to August 2022, Nick and Mari were a few days into their second cross-country road trip. The day began with a 5am sunrise at their campsite. In Nick's desire to make the day perfect, he playfully suggested Mari fix her hair and wear something cute, but unfortunately, she was too tired for this. As they ventured toward Mount Hood National Forest, Nick suggested a scenic hike before heading to their next stop: Portland, Oregon. Against the stunning backdrop of Tamawanas Falls, he dropped down on one knee. Seven years later to the day, we are absolutely thrilled to bring together our cherished family and friends from coast to coast. It's a joyous occasion, marking a significant chapter in our relationship. The anticipation is palpable as we eagerly await a tropical weekend filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of shared celebrations.
