We can't wait to celebrate with you! Our theme is around wildflowers, so on your way to the wedding, if you see any (even on the side of the road!), feel free to pick them and bring them with to add to our special day!

Question

Where's the venue?

Answer

Drake's on the Kenai is a lodge right on the Kenai River 20 minutes down Funny River Road at... 37920 Sara Street, Soldotna, Alaska 99669 https://drakesonthekenai.com/ 907.227.5052 sdedionisio@yahoo.com

Question

Should we rent a car?

Answer

Totally up to you. There is a quick flight from Anchorage to Soldotna and then you MIGHT be able to use Uber, or there's the local taxi service. The drive from Anchorage to Soldotna is gorgeous and having or sharing a car does make it easier to venture out.

Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

There are lots of great options in Soldotna, but they can book up quickly for July! Check out our "Travel" tab. For the night of the wedding there are many options to be closer to the venue, if not camping right on the property (small fee for a camper on the lodge property). Contact Susan (local in Soldotna) or Mari to know more.

Question

What do I need to know about traveling in Alaska?

Answer

There aren’t any secret, fast routes from one city to the next. Basically one highway to each place. WATCH FOR WILDLIFE! Moose can blend in and be on the road or the side of it. If you see one on the side of the road, slow down the best you can to give them space and just paddle by. Don’t get out to pet it. Bears will be awake in the summer, same rules apply. If driving from Anchorage to Soldotna, enjoy it! There are plenty of places to pull over and take a photo. There are also plenty of dead zones, so have some playlists downloaded, and plan your mapping accordingly or caravan. For gas stops on that drive, there’s about one every hour, then some outhouse public toilet stops along the way.

Question

What does one do in Alaska?

Answer

There's so much to see and do! We've listed some of our faves in the "things to do" tab. Beyond that, there's fishing, hiking, shopping local markets, eating, and exploring breweries. The internet is also a treasure trove.

Question

You're living in China, should we bring a gift?

Answer

We are so glad to just have you join us! For any gift ideas, view our registry for group gifts and other items. Or, feel free to bring anything you think we'd like!
