Kid friendly until 9 PM, this bar/restaurant offers an outdoor playground so the kids can run around while you enjoy an adult beverage.
Check out the Pearl district - complete with a splash pad for the kids, local shops and alcohol/food options for the adults. There's also a great Farmer's Market from 9 AM to 1 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.
This one is for the adults only. If you're exploring the Pearl District, take a walk around the Hotel Emma and stop into the Sternewirth bar for a loungey vibe and some of the best cocktails in town.
This indoor market offers restaurants, an open patio, a coffee shop, ice cream shop, a bar, a bakery, quick to-go bites, a produce section and an extensive beer and wine selection for purchase. Conveniently located in the Pearl District.
Go here for the nachos. The margaritas are decent, and the building itself is charming. Located in the Pearl District.
Another Pearl food option. Great breakfast, brunch or lunch spot.
Our favorite Asian restaurant in San Antonio. Also located in the Pearl District. Family style food, great service and charming building. Would recommend getting a reservation here and booking early - they're always busy!
Casual spot with yummy cheap drinks, plenty of outdoor games, live music, a big projector screen for gamedays, a food truck etc. This is also close to the Pearl District. Fun Fact: This is where the bride and groom met!
Casual ice house right next to the Pearl overlooking the river. Great patio, above average bar food and pretty good drinks.
Great casual spot for all things fried comfort foods right in the Pearl. Recommend the chicken fried chicken and the fried catfish. So good.
The bride and groom's favorite Mexican restaurant in San Antonio. Complete with a rooftop bar, this place has the best enchiladas, tacos nortenos and drinks (the margaritas and micheladas are the highlight in our opinion). They don't take reservations, but it's worth the wait.
A local sandwich shop we love!
You can't come to San Antonio without having breakfast tacos. This is our favorite. Stop at Mila Coffee across the street for a horchata or any coffee beverage of your choice.
This is right next to Pete's Tako House and Mila Coffee. There's a great patio and some games inside. Check out the Make Ready Market behind it for some local shops and food options.
Dive bars your thing? This is our favorite! Located just down the street from the Pearl.
Looking for a touristy experience? Check out Market Square downtown and make sure to stop in to Mi Tierra while you're there (sub-par Mexican food but a great bakery).
We had to include.......... This is not a full day activity by any means, but if you're downtown exploring would recommend stopping in for a quick tour.
The oldest bar on the Riverwalk and a classic San Antonio spot. A must-do if you're downtown.
Basically the only Mexican spot we go to downtown. This is on a quieter, less touristy part of the riverwalk and has great palomas and pretty good food. A gorgeous patio that overlooks the riverwalk as well. Would recommend making a reservation if you plan to go. This is a good brunch, lunch or dinner option.
Great spot if you're craving pizza and happen to be downtown.
Charming cocktail bar/coffee shop in the St. Anthony Hotel downtown. With your coffee you can enjoy coffee shop-style breakfast (pastries, breakfast sandwiches) and with your cocktails you can enjoy a mix of Tex Mex, Asian and Barbecue options.
Take the kids and walk around Hemisfair Park. The playground is great for them to burn off some energy (splash pad, jungle gym, etc.) and there's some great food and drink spots nearby (Dough Pizzeria, Bombay Bicycle Club).
Check out the zoo and kiddie park! Kids love the train ride.
This comes highly recommended for the kids! This park offers a pirate-themed playground. Also known as Mitchell's Landing Park.
"The San Antonio Parks Foundation completed extensive infrastructure rehabilitation to this unique attraction. The restored garden features a lush year-round floral display with shaded walkways, stone bridges, a 60-foot waterfall and ponds filled with koi. Still thriving after 100 years, the Japanese Tea Garden is dear to the hearts of local residents and tourists alike and remains one of the most photographed spots in San Antonio."
A top San Antonio attraction that serves as a museum of plants, a tranquil escape, a living classroom, a research and conservation facility, and entertainment. This is near the San Antonio Zoo.
Morgan’s Wonderland is a fully-inclusive theme park with kid-friendly rides and activities. Individuals with disabilities or special needs, as well as children under the age of 2, can receive their free ticket admission in the Welcome Center.
This is for the kids! Check out the DoSeum for interactive, fun and educational exhibits.
