We're Getting married!

Many of you know that Mari and I met at the pool where we both lifeguarded... but did you know that in the summer of 2012, when Mari bravely jumped in to save a poor drowning little boy and fractured her foot, that I am the one that had to jump in and save her? From that point on, she knew that she couldn't live without me... Literally. Although we went to colleges in different states, we were able to maintain our relationship through three years of long distance. We won't tell you it worked well or that we liked it, but we both know that it was worth it. After college when we moved back home, things were harder. Life got in the way for a while and we split up for almost a year. Eventually I came crawling back, and we rekindled at Burwood tap on a Tuesday night. The next week, we saw the Cubs beat the Pirates on our official (second) first date, and it was off to the races. That year, we watched the Cubs get a World Series ring together. 5 years later, we're living together in River North and Mari has a ring of her own... In the back of our minds, we both knew we were going to end up together. Our story is a true testament of resilience and persistence, and a reminder that love always finds a way.
