A small city outside of Puebla, where during Day of the Dead celebrations, they erect large Catrina skeleton statues on the streets and it's surrounding is known as the Valley of the Catrinas.
If you're interested in ruins, look no further! The city of Cholula has a very popular archaeological site of the ruins of The Great Pyramid which has a Spanish 16th century Church ( Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios) built on the top of the temple. The church on the top also shows a great view of the famous volcano, Popocatepetl.
This a historic zone where the battle of Cinco de Mayo against the French took place! Lots of museums in the area, a park, and is a great viewpoint where you can see the city skyline!
