Santa Barbara's hip urban wine tasting and bar-hopping neighborhood. Check out Lana Dog, Fess Parker, Muni Wines, Santa Barbara Winery, Margerum, Pali Winery, and more! Also of note: Helena Ave Bakery, Mony’s, Loquita if you’re feeling fancy, the Biergarten, Brass Bear, and more.
Perhaps the tourist hub of Santa Barbara, but still really lovely! Walk around and see seals, dolphins, and (rarely) whales. Deep Sea Winery on the Wharf is probably the best in town because of the view. Most importantly, you can finally visit where Batman diffused a bomb in 1966 (https://youtu.be/UCrIvW7n4bU?si=FDyQsKOyPsr4WWWa) and where Martin overdosed on ice cream in My Favorite Martian (https://youtu.be/VfhaiCK_Eck?si=2AMHYqdSdsq89947).
A lovely park with a variety of California flora. It's a great "roaming crash course" on California nature for those unfamiliar. Requires walking around for a mile or two, but the terrain is not a strenuous hike.
A beautiful old California mission with a lovely rose garden! There are roses in there I've never even heard of.
A dog beach!!! The best beach! Watch dogs of all shapes and sizes romp around as you stroll down the beach. You can also grab something to eat at Hendry's right on the water.
Have to drop this recommendation here even though it's a 30-minute drive north of Santa Barbara. Have some wine in their tasting room....and feed farm animals!!! Feed carrots to tiny Kunekune pigs, goats, alpacas, a mini cow, and a donkey. If it's too far, check out the Folded Hills Tasting Room in Montecito, 5 minutes south of SB (1294 Coast Village Road, Montecito, CA 93108): https://foldedhills.com/tasting-rooms/montecito-tasting-room/
