This is the neighborhood where the wedding ceremony will be held at the church in the center of town. Portuguese architecture from the Azores Islands is what gives this Bairro its charm along with the Ilha gastronomy - restaurants serving seafood by the water's edge with picturesque views of the sunset and the famous bridge, Winston lived in this neighborhood and is where Mariana and Winston had their second date. Breakfast: hotel, Lunch Buffet: Lunch: Dinner: Snacks:
This is the part of the island where many tourists come to boast about the views. More "roots" or "hippie" than Jurere. The wedding reception will be held on top of the hill "Morro da Lagoa" aka "Lagoa Hill". Many cafes, bars, restaurants, shops, kite surfing, paddle boarding, and activities happening. Take a boat to Costa de Lagoa where you can take in the sights of lagoa on the way to hidden restaurants cooking up delicious seafood. Relaxing and a great option for a calm day. The boat dock is in the center of Lagoa by the bridge.
Florianopolis boasts more than 40 beaches on the island alone. With limited time to explore, here are the beaches we recommend if you want to venture off of Jurere beach in search of different views: Praia Mole (past Lagoa), Campeche (near airport), Praia do Forte (next to Jurere), Cachoeira do Bom Jesus (near Jurere), and Praia Brava (30 minutes from Jurere)
Sunday nights only. R$20 entry... A real Samba house for those that like to dance and get a little sweaty. It's a cash-only establishment on the water. Expect a Samba shack and that is what this is serving up homemade food (whatever they choose to cook), ice cold beer and caprihinhas, and live samba music.
Florianopolis is known throughout Brazil for its nightlife. It is the beginning of summer, so look for places like Cafe de la Musique, Donna, Aqua Plage or 300 in Jurere which will be more expensive and a fancier crowd. Attend these locations if you want a high-end beachfront experience. Wear nice clothes. Check out any of the hidden bars in Santo Antonio through Sambaqui for great views, great food, and a more laid back experience. Ask the neighbors the best spots to attend next, "Onde vai ser o festa hoje?" Bar do Boni in Lagoa is a great spot overlooking the lake, live music, and outdoor experience. Dress casually. Several locations in the city center like the Roof (high end), etc. More to come on things to do.
