Flight
Whether you're coming from NY, another state, or Puerto Rico, we recommend connecting in Miami or NYC and taking a direct flight to Rio (GIG) or São Paulo (GRU) and then flying to Recife (REC). Unfortunately, as of September 2025, Azul has discontinued all direct flights to Recife from the US. São Paulo (GRU) has multiple daily flights to and from major U.S. cities such as NYC, Boston, Miami, DC, and LA. If you're traveling from Puerto Rico, here are the flight routes we recommend: San Juan (SJU) > (IAD) Washington DC > São Paulo (GRU) > Recife (REC) via United Airlines San Juan (SJU) > Miami (MIA) > Rio Janeiro (GIG) > Recife (REC) via American Airlines San Juan (SJU) > Panama City (PTY) > Brasilia (BSB) > Recife (REC) via Copa Airlines
Flight
Recife (REC) has direct connections to 3 major European hubs: Lisbon (LIS), Madrid (MAD), and Porto (OPO). TAP Air Portugal operates the REC-LIS route. Azul and Iberia serve the REC-MAD route, and REC-OPO is operated by Azul.
Flight
2-leg connections on Copa and other airlines are available through several Brazilian cities such as Manaus (MAO), Brasília (BSB), São Paulo (GRU), and Rio de Janeiro (GIG).
Hotel
We have a hotel block at Atlante Plaza in Boa Viagem. To reserve your room, please email lazer2@casafora.com with your arrival/departure dates, full names, DOB, passport scan, and room selection (double full or single king) by December 12th. Our travel agency, Casafora, will take care of the reservations and are available to answer any questions. Please make sure your email to them is in english. If you can't make this deadline, you won't be able to participate in the hotel's special rates for the wedding and will have to go through the hotel directly. We will try our best to request another extension with our travel agency but the hotel team has been adamant on a deadline. Located on the beachfront of Boa Viagem beach and five minutes from Recife International Airport, The Atlante Plaza Hotel is in a prime central location for the best tourist attractions in the capital of Pernambuco. The hotel offers complete, differentiated services with a high standard of quality and exclusivity. Its panoramic elevators are a unique charm. Restaurants with contemporary regional and international cuisine, bars, a coffee shop, and a fully equipped gym are also available. On the rooftop, there is a swimming pool, a swim-up bar, and a delightful spa, completing this unique experience with an unobstructed view of the sea.
Travel Note
Depending on your nationality, you may need to apply for an eVisa (online) or a paper visa (at your local Brazilian consulate) before arriving. We recommend starting your application process at least 2 months in advance especially if you do not hold an American, Canadian, European, or Latin American passport. US and Canadian citizens: the eVisa process is fully online and can be accessed here: https://brazil.vfsevisa.com/. We recommend applying at least 1 month in advance. European and Latin American citizens: you are most likely exempt from applying to any kind of visa, but we recommend checking your local consulate website for any proof of funds requirements at the border that may be relevant to your nationality. Other nationalities: you may need to apply for a paper visa at a Brazilian consulate near you. We believe this process may take upwards of 2 months so we recommend getting started no later than early January 2026. For further details, the following Wikipedia page provides a good starting point, after which we recommend checking the relevant process using the website for the Brazilian where you live: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visa_policy_of_Brazil and the Brazilian embassy/consulate for your city/country.
