The currency in Egypt is the Egyptian Pound (EGP). As of February, 2024, $1 is officially 30EGP but exchanging in the black market can get you a better rate. Money can be exchanged at the airport or at an Exchange Bureau or bank. It is preferred to carry new $100 bills for a better exchange rate. Egypt is generally a cheap country, so do not be surprised by some of the prices.
