Travel Note
There are three airports serving Milan, Italy: Milano Linate (LIN), Milano Malpensa (MXP), and Bergamo Orio Al Serio (BGY). Flying into LIN and MXP is easiest, as both have ample transportation options: Linate airport is connected to Milan by the M2 blue metro line, while Malpensa has a variety of shuttle buses and an express train service "Malpensa Express" to transport people into the city. Orio Al Serio is a little farther away, but there is a shuttle bus service between the airport and Milan.

The most convenient places to stay to get to the reception are Milan, Erba, or Como. MILANO We recommend reserving rooms in Milano at a walking distance from Piazzale Luigi Cadorna. This will ensure you are close to Stazione Cadorna train/metro station and can easily get the train to Erba for the reception. By accessing Booking.com, you can see distances and prices and make the most suitable choice for yourself. If you are not able to find a good solution within walking distance of Piazzale Cadorna, you should look for a hotel along Metro 1 (red) line or Metro 2 (green) line, as they both stop at Stazione Cadorna. Trains are managed by Ferrovie Nord (or TreNord). You will see these names on signs in the Metro and at the train station. ERBA There are 2-3 hotels and various AirBnB in Erba. Erba is a small town without much public transportation; thus, while none are within walking distance of the reception, a car ride should be no longer than 10-15 minutes. We recommend staying in Erba if you want to stay at the reception past the last train 8:30pm (9:36 pm), or if you want to take a tour of Lake Como on the Friday before or the Sunday after the reception. If so, please reach out, and we can make some recommendations COMO: If you are staying in the Lake Como area, there are many hotel options. However, because there aren’t any direct trains between Como and Erba, you would need to hire a car or taxi to get to Erba for the reception (it takes about 20-30 minutes).

The reception will be at the Calderoni family home in Erba, CO. Erba is a 70 minute drive from the center of Milan and there are regional TRENORD trains from Milano Cadorna to Erba that travel hourly. TRAINS TO ERBA Trains depart Milano Cadorna for Erba every hour at XX:08 and the ride is about 70 minutes. Return trains from Erba to Milano Cadorna depart every hour at XX:46. While there may be some trains in between, they require two or more connections, so we do not recommend them. Last departure Erba to Milano: - At 8:46 pm - train - At 9:36 pm - train+bus Trains are managed by Ferrovie Nord (or TreNord). You will see these names on signs in the Metro and at the train station. Board the train going to "Canzo-Asso"—you will get to Erba in about 70 minutes. The last stops before Erba are Inverigo, Lambrugo, Merone, and Erba. From the Erba train station to our home, it’s about a 15-minute walk uphill or a pick-up by car from us. No taxi available. Buy a ticket to ERBA (5.20€) at the ticket dispenser in the train station or at the ticket counter to Malpensa airport. We recommend you buy two tickets so you are already set for your return trip. IF STAYING IN COMO There is a bus almost every half hour from Como to Erba (and then Lecco); best stop is Erba-Carabinieri, then 5 minutes walk uphill
